Through the Lens is a creative media arts program with a ‘fokus’ on Photography and Literary Arts. Participants will learn about the similarities of the camera and the pen/pencil and how both can capture a story.

Through the hands-on use of digital cameras, iPads, lighting equipment and other media arts tools, students will learn the basics of photography while applying the use of literary elements to create narratives based on their images.

This program culminates with a gallery showcase displaying a selection of photographic & literary work developed during our sessions and a distribution of booklets filled with a collection of images from our students.

Students will develop skills within the following areas: photography, literary arts, organization, planning and goal implementation strategies.
